Organizing Make Up/Skin Care

Admit it Ladies! There are times we randomly buy cosmetics, later to find out that it is not suited for our skin, then kept in shelf for days untouched, waiting to throw away after its expiry. Well, at least, I, myself is guilty of doing that. So the most important thing to do foremost, while organizing our make up/skin care is to purge out what is not used now.
Purge out– While organizing my make up/skin care arsenal, I do a quick scan of each of my beauty products. First, I separate those that I don’t use for at least 6 months. If I don’t use it for the last 6 months, I won’t use it any more. Then I look for the expiry date on the rest of the products which I am willing to keep. And purged out those expired. We all know how harmful it is to use an expired product on our skin. There are still some items left which I am not sure to purged out but haven’t use for a long time. I kept them in front row, so that I could see them more often. Still if they are unused, then its time to vacate the place.
Prioritize the daily used make up/skin care products- We could categorized our beauty products into two types- daily used and occasionally used items. For instance, night cream is a daily essential items, whereas we occasionally used dark shaded eye shadows. I keep my daily use make up & skin care products at an easy to see and find shelves and other occasionally used items in closed drawers.
Concentrate on reusing trays and boxes rather than buying organizing gadgets- I prefer recycling trays, boxes and coffee cups for organizing my make up/ skin care products. On a birthday I got a coffee cup with my photo pasted on it. The gift was very dear to me but was not used as such. Now I use it to hold all my makeup brushes. It not only look stylish in my dressing table but also give a personal touch. Markets are flooded with different make up organizer and we love to buy them. They add to the clutter at the end.
Keep your drawer half full- We tend to overfill our drawers and cabinets, in such a way that it is difficult to find things. And out of sight goes out of mind. In order to see things properly, keep your drawers half fill. This will help to see things & find easily.
