Basic 5 Steps Skin Care Routine

In my teenage, if you would ask me, “Soma what you do for your skincare?” My answer would have been “Nothing!”. And literally, I did nothing. I had such sensitive skin, that doing nothing is best than prepping my skin with some skin care products.
But now my idea about skin care has changed a lot. With age, my skin began to lose its natural glow, making me more concern about it. And I think it is high time that I too follow a basis skin care routine.
When it comes to basic Skin Care Routine, people generally go for 5 simple Steps. And I am going to discuss them with you today.
Cleansing– The first and foremost is cleansing. Staying all day outside leaves our skin with lots of dirt clogged with dead cells and sebum. With a proper clean up it ends in ache and other skin issues. You can use a cleanser milk or oil, followed my a face wash. I prefer using oil as it lives my skin supple and moisturize. Try to use mild or a herbal face wash. Just put a coin size amount into your palm and apply all over the wet face and neck. Rotate in circular motion for a minute or two and then wash it off. I use lukewarm water. You too could try it.
Exfoliate- Our skin accumulates dead cells and it doesn’t leave quickly with a face wash or a cleanser. You need to exfoliate your skin properly. Use at least twice a week . Market are flooded with exfoliator and read the label carefully before choosing them. Follow the same circular motion and you will see the glow after washing.
Toner- Next comes our toner.Many of us ignore the step because of its irritating properties on our skin. But this is a highly recommended step. It helps to remove the dirt not cleaned by your face wash. It firms the pores, making them lee visible. Toner also helps to maintain a healthy pH balance for the skin.
Moisturizer- No matter how oily your skin is, it requires a moisturizer. Now we could get oil based as well as gel bases moisturizer. Buy it according to your skin type. In winter, try to use a cream based moisturizer, as we require more hydration is winter. Use it daily, at least twice daily. Once in the morning and once before going to bed.
Sunscreen- As per studies, direct sun light after 9 a.m. is harmful for our skin. But we can’t avoid it, if we are a working lady or has to go outside to get our things done. Use a sunscreen about 1/2 hour prior to going out. Use SPF 30 to 50 range and repeat every two hours if has to stay for a longer time. It is uncomfortable to use a Sunscreen in oily face but now we have good gel based formula to sort out the problem.
As you can see, it is not that difficult to follow a basic skin care routine. All you need, is consistency . Follow the steps religiously and your skin will thank you.
