Welcome Summer

Summer brings with it the heat,sweat and all the inconvenience that we generally associate with it, especially in this part of Indian sub-continent.But it also brings with it the amazing flavors of fruits and other delicacies, that are so enchanting and soothing to our taste buds.Like every other seasons,Summer no doubt has its pros and cons and we have to learn loving and living Summer.

To get into the mood of Summer,we need to keep in mind-

Use of Sunscreen-Avoid going to direct sunlight after 9 am. But if you have to go, apply sunscreen in your face,neck areas and all the open parts to avoid skin damage.Try to use less harsh chemical in your Sunscreen. Sweat is a big problem for a oil based Sunscreen for many of us, but now we could get water based or gel based sunscreen in the market,which do its purpose very well.

Wear Cotton Clothes-Cotton absorbs sweat and its very airy and comforting to wear in hot weather. Wearing Sleeves is a better option to avoid Sun burns.

Drink plenty of water– Drink at least 8 glasses to water a day. Getting bored of plain water. Explore new sparkled water,but don’t forget our age old coconut waters or variety of fruit juices we get this season. Avoid carbonated drinks as its prone to dehydration rather than hydrating your body.

Yogurt in diet-Include yogurt in your diet. It is good for your gut and refreshing as well.

Use Sunglasses and Hats– Wear Sunglasses and hats when outside.Not only they protect you from summer heat but also give your self a cool style statement as well.

Light exercises – Give away your heavy workouts at gym for some days and try some moderate to light exercises at home. Brisk walking in the morning and evening could be explored. Even for those who dislikes exercises, a light walking in morning cool breeze or a slight stretching exercises, even some yoga poses like Pranayam and Suryanamaskar could to be a good option to get going.

Use dettol /disinfectant – Sweats often attract germs. Try to wash outside used clothes with dettol or other disinfectants.

Use paper towel & tissue paper– Use paper towel & tissue papers rather than re-useable cotton handkerchiefs to avoid germs & bacteria.

As the saying goes,”Prevention is better than Cure”.This small tips will go a long way and we could enjoy Summer with all its warmth & freshness.
